The Indonesian Gymnastics Federation continues its efforts to popularize gymnastics in Indonesia. Coinciding with the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships at the Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, they are holding a talent scouting event.
The Men's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) talent search will feature 20 young athletes from various regions in Indonesia, aged 12-16. The event will take place in the Warming Up Area at the Indonesia Arena on Thursday morning (October 23rd).
The President of the Indonesian Gymnastics Federation, Ita Yuliati, stated that the talent search will be directly monitored by representatives of the International Gymnastics Federation (FGI). This confirms that young Indonesian gymnasts are being recognized on the global stage.
"Of course, I hope gymnastics in Indonesia will continue to develop. The 53rd Artistic Gymnastics World Championships are proof of this. I want the Indonesian people to become more familiar with gymnastics," said Ita Yuliati.
With regular marketing campaigns, even reaching out to the regions, the former national gymnast from the 1970s is optimistic that more and more children will become interested and choose to pursue gymnastics.
"Indonesian Gymnastics is committed to producing talented athletes who will one day represent Indonesia in various global events. This talent search is just the beginning; they will then be nurtured on an ongoing basis," Ita Yuliati added.*
