Zou Jingyuan asserted his status as the world's ruler of the parallel bars after securing a gold medal at the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. The Chinese athlete recorded a score of 15,300.
Performing at the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta on Saturday night (October, 25), Jingyuan captivated the audience. The 27-year-old gymnast seemed determined to prove that the parallel bars are his specialty.
Throughout his participation in world championships, Jingyuan has won four gold medals. These came in Montreal 2017, Doha 2018, and Liverpool 2022. He also won the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The silver and bronze medals were won by Tomoharu Tsunogai of Japan and Daniel Marinov, who competed as Athlete Individual Neutral (AIN). They earned scores of 14,500 and 14,466 points, respectively.
